Manifestation is often spoken about as if it’s something we switch on and off. We sit down with our journal, write out affirmations, light a candle, maybe script a vision of our future... and then we say, I’m manifesting.

And yet here’s the thing: you’re always manifesting. Every thought, every word, every belief carries energy. That energy ripples outward. And life responds. So, the question isn’t whether you’re manifesting. It’s whether you’re manifesting by design or by default.

THE SUBTLE TRAP OF DEFAULT MANIFESTING

Default manifesting is what happens when unconscious patterns, fears, or doubts lead the way. You don’t mean to create it... and yet, you do. And over time, these patterns reinforce themselves, creating loops that can feel impossible to break.

Think about it:

  • You worry about not having enough money… and somehow, another unexpected bill arrives.

  • You tell yourself you’re not ready to follow a dream… and opportunities seem to pass you by.

  • You feel insecure in a relationship… and find yourself repeating the same arguments again and again.

It’s not that the universe is punishing you. It’s simply reflecting the dominant energy you’re putting out.

THREE SIGNS YOU'RE MANIFESTING BY ACCIDENT

So how can you tell if you’re in a default pattern? Here are three of the most common signs:

  1. You focus more on what you don’t want rather than what you do - Fear is powerful fuel. When your mind constantly runs through worst-case scenarios, you unintentionally send out a steady vibration of lack, worry, or failure.

  2. You keep circling back to the same challenges - Maybe it’s a money block, a health habit, or a self-belief. If the same theme keeps reappearing, it’s a clue that an unconscious pattern is shaping your reality.

  3. Your intuition feels muted - Instead of a clear gut-knowing, you feel tangled in second-guessing. Doubt drowns out your inner voice, making it harder to discern which opportunities to follow.

If any of these sound familiar, you’re not failing, you’re simply manifesting by accident. And awareness is the first step to change.

HOW TO FLIP DEFAULT MANIFESTING INTO CONSCIOUS MANIFESTING

Here are some practices to bring more intention into your daily creation:

Shift your language - The words you use shape your reality. Swap “I hope this works” to“I trust this is unfolding.” Swap “I can’t afford this” to“I’m choosing where my money flows.” These subtle shifts align your vibration with possibility.

Catch the spiral early - When you notice yourself dwelling on fear, pause. Place your hand on your heart, take three breaths, and ask: What’s the more loving thought here? This breaks the automatic loop.

Anchor in daily intention - You don’t need a 2-hour ritual. A simple morning question — How do I want to feel today? — sets your energy field for the day ahead.

WHY INTUITION IS YOUR MANIFESTING COMPASS

Here’s where intuition enters the conversation.

Manifesting isn’t about controlling life, it’s about aligning with the energy that’s already seeking to move through you. Your intuition is the compass that tells you whether you’re aligned or off course.

When you ignore it, you’re more likely to manifest by accident, guided by old stories instead of inner truth. However, when you strengthen it, you naturally begin to:

  • Sense which opportunities are worth saying yes to.

  • Feel when a door is truly closed (instead of trying to force it open).

  • Recognise the difference between fear and genuine intuition.

This is why I teach intuition as a foundational skill in so many of my courses. A PERSONAL REFLECTION

A couple of years ago, we rescued a young dove who had fallen out of his nest onto our balcony. At first, we hoped his parents would return. You could see him calling for them, shifting to different spots where he thought they’d notice him. However, they never came back.

So, we created a small box for him to sleep in at night, giving him shelter and protection. As the nights grew colder, we realised he needed more than a box - he needed warmth. And so, we brought him inside, named him “Duffy” (kind of like “Dovey”), and reached out to a kind woman in the UK who rescues birds. Over Zoom she guided us in feeding him. It was delicate, difficult, and stressful for such a little one. However, we tried.

The next day, on my usual walk, I came across a tiny bird skull on the path. My stomach sank. I intuitively knew what it meant. When I rushed home, my knowing was confirmed: Duffy had passed. He had only lived a couple of days after we rescued him.

And yet, in those days, I trust he experienced warmth and love. That he left this world having been seen, cared for, and held - not abandoned and cold.

This experience reminded me that manifestation isn’t only about the outcome. Sometimes, it’s about the energy we pour into the in-between, the unseen moments where life is tender, fragile, and fleeting. Even when the story doesn’t end how we imagined, the love we infuse into it matters. That love ripples outward. It creates its own kind of manifestation: of presence, of care, of connection.

THREE PRACTICAL WAYS TO MANIFEST WITH INTUITION

To close, I'd love to share with you three simple practices you can try this week:

  1. Use oracle cards as mirrors - Instead of only asking “What will happen?”, try asking: What energy am I projecting right now? The card that comes up often reveals the unconscious vibe you’re sending out.

  2. Journal with your clairs - Write a question at the top of the page. Then ask yourself: what do I see (clairvoyance)? What do I hear (clairaudience)? What do I feel (clairsentience)? What do I know (claircognisance)? This builds intuitive muscle and clarifies what’s truly yours versus what’s fear.

  3. Celebrate micro-wins - Each time you notice yourself flipping from fear to trust, celebrate. The more you affirm these tiny shifts, the stronger they become.

You’re manifesting all the time. The choice is whether to do it accidentally guided by fear, or consciously guided by intuition and love.

Every pause you take to listen inward, every intention you set, every time you trust your clairs, you’re stepping out of default loops and into aligned creation. And that’s where true magic unfolds.
