a salad of only lettuce leaves
“I use only coconut oil on my skin” (you can replace ‘coconut oil’ with any other oil you might use)
I love coconut oil and I even use the liquid version (fractionated coconut oil) in some of my facial serums. So you’re not doing anything wrong there.
But here’s the thing.
When you have a salad do you just eat lettuce? Lettuce carries some beautiful nutritional benefits for your body but not everything. When you add other ingredients to your salad such as olives, radishes, beetroot… whatever you fancy, you’ll find that the nutritional value will suddenly rise and your body will thank you for it.
It’s exactly the same when you just apply a single oil on your face (or anywhere else on your body for that matter). Your skin receives the benefits that that oil has to offer but one single oil does not contain all the benefits your skin requires.
And that's why I want to introduce today to Facial Serums or, as I affectionately refer to them, li'l bottles of gold.
Facial serums can often be the most overlooked and under-rated skincare product around. Not to mention a facial serum can vary vastly from brand to brand.
To put it simply a facial serum is a moisturiser that penetrates the skin to deliver its active ingredients. I believe that facial serums should be a blend of the very best and richest that Mother Earth has to offer: oils and therapeutic essential oils. But at the same time, you don’t want your face feeling greasy and oily all day long either, so that’s why you choose a facial serum for your specific skin type because the oils that are used for dry skin would be much too heavy for someone with oily skin, for example.
When I begin to design a facial serum, I start by making a full list of the properties I want the serum to have and how it should impact your skin. I then spend months reasearching oils, exotic oils, and essential oils before creating a shortlist that contains all the attributes I am seeking and that contains oils which are the very best that Mother Nature can provide. And then, and only then, do I start to blend and trial the product.
I craft each serum with such great care and love because I only want the best for your skin.
If you compare applying a single self-chosen oil to your skin everyday to applying a carefully and expertly formulated facial serum, it's like promoting your skin from economy class to business class.
Now you might be thinking (or saying) that using a single oil on your skin works 'just fine' but, for me, 'just fine' is simply not good enough. 'Just fine' doesn't make my skin glow with radiance nor does it fill me with a sense of self-love. And that's why applying a facial serum every single day is a non-negotiable for me.
To find which facial serum will ensure your skin will glow with radiance, head on over here.
