the chariot

Determination and self-control. Career advancement. Acknowledgement of success by others.

Before we look, in detail, at all the symobilism in this card, let me just say that the underlying message is "you have what it takes". Whatever may be at the forefront of your mind, whatever perceived challenge may be on your path, the angels want you to know "you have what it takes".

Most of the symbols I want to hone in on in this card all feature around the central symbol after which the card is named: the chariot.

So let's start by looking at the chariot and deciphering the meaning behind a chariot.

What does a chariot signify? When I think of a chariot, I think of nimbleness and speed, how a chariot would whip around the circus maximus in Ancient Greek and Roman times. Watching a chariot race would have brought great excitement.

In this card, we're being told, through the presence of the chariot, that what you set your mind to, you can achieve with great speed.

However, the other thing about chariots was that they could very easily overturn if not kept under control and in balance. So they were difficult to drive and required skill and precision so they stayed upright.

Although you have the ability to achieve what you set your mind to, with great speed, you also need to stay balanced, remain in control, and devote time, dedication and work to it. This is not a case of sitting back on your laurels and letting greatness come to you. If you're not dedicated and focused on the outcome, if you're not determined to succeed, things could easily, and also at speed, topple over and lose control.

The Archangel driving the chariot on the card is Archangel Metatron. Metatron is the archangel I refer to as the "kick up the ass" archangel, always on hand, when you ask him to be, to inspire you, to motivate you, to give you a kick up the ass when you're lagging. So, through his connection with this card, Archangel Metatron, should you ask him to, will happily motivate you to take the necessary action you need to keep your chariot moving.

On the front of the chariot is a very special sacred geometric symbol which is, actually, named after Archangel Metatron. It's known as Metatron's Cube and is a symbol that acts as a metaphor for the known Universe, and how everything, no matter how seemingly small or insignificant, is actually connected, as depicted by the lines that connect each and every circle together. It is used by the Archangel Metatron to watch over the flow of energy connecting earth and the divine.

This symbol reminds us that energy is in constant movement which means that doubt and fear, and other negative emotions, can be changed into more positive emotions. So let the words of the angels reverberate in your head, whenever you see challenges arising along your path, "you've got what it takes". Don't let fear and doubt pull you under. Change those emotions to ones of determination and motivation, emotions which Archangel Metatron is more than willing to support you with.

Metatron's Cube also reminds us that the Universe wants us to discover our personal power and use it to do good. We, each and every one of us, has chosen to experience life on earth for a very specific and unique reason. However, many of us have forgotten why we chose to come here. Now's our chance to begin to walk our soul path, to find our unique purpose in life and let our light shine brightly. Invite Archangel Metatron to light the fire under you so you don't waste this beautiful opportunity at life.

Pulling the chariot at speed are white and black unicorns. These represent light and dark and, to keep the chariot running in a staight, they must work in harmony and be brought into harmony. Similarly, the chariot cannot run if only one of the unicorns is present, just like we, as humans, can only appreciate the light with the presence of darkness.

Normally a chariot would be pulled by "great steeds". However on our card, it is being pulled by unicorns. Why? Well unicorns are often considered the most wondrous of all mythical creatures. They are a symbol of magic, miracles, and enchantment. The angels are encouraging us to expect magic and miracles in our life. You may feel uncertainty in relation to that which is at the forefront of you mind, but you have nothing to fear - expect magic, expect miracles.

Unicorns were also considered to be the fastest of all creatures, and catching them was supposed to be nigh-on impossible, except by virgins which, similar to unicorns, represented purity. On our card we have two elusive unicorns pulling the chariot, implying great speed racing towards a successful result in record time.

And finally, the golden stars that are dotted everywhere on the card. The presence of stars here reminds me of the phrase "reach for the stars". Get out of your comfort zone and charge bravely ahead with confidence and courage. "You have what it takes", the only thing that's stopping you is yourself, your doubts, your fears, your feelings of inadequacy. The angels know you have what it takes, why don't you?

Gold is the colour of success. When you choose to leave your comfort zone, when you choose to reach for the stars, when you choose step into that chariot and charge forward bravely and boldly with balance and control, you will succeed.

And finally, and some might say rather harshly, would you ever stand in front of a chariot that's charging forwards? Only if you're a fool, lovely soul! When driving the chariot, your aim is victory, and to be victorious you must have unwavering confidence in your cause. Never question, never doubt what you're trying to achieve. Never lose your focus or your motivation. And never let anyone stand in your way. If they do, run them over.
