So tell me, have you got caught up in the whole "New Year, New Gym Membership" or "New Year, New Fitter Me" that I see bandying around at this time of year, every year?
Can I suggest something quite radical?
Don't buy into it.
Here's the thing. This time of year we are bombarded by cheap gym memberships or ads on television about slimming drinks or even challenges on social media to help you detox.
But do you know what they all have in common? They're all honing in on your insecurities and making you feel inadequate.
And that's why I've chosen a very special quote to share with you today.
Because it comes from a woman in the public eye who knows, first hand, what it's like to be judged for her looks, for her appearance, for her weight, on a daily basis... Jennifer Aniston.
And I feel she's hit the nail beautifully on the head when she says:
"You’re damned if you’re too thin and you’re damned if you’re too heavy… it’s impossible to satisfy everyone and I suggest we stop trying."
You know by now I'm all about self-care and self-love. So this quote is right up my street.
It's time to stop trying to change yourself to please someone else or to appear to be more pleasing in their eyes.
They're not living your life for you, you are. And I suggest you make a promise to yourself this year to fall back in love with the beautiful and amazing soul you already naturally are. Because you spend most of your time with you.
Wouldn't it be beautiful to truly love the person you spend most of your time with? You?
So start today to appreciate you for who you are. And stop trying to be someone you aren't just so you think you'll fit in. You aren't meant to fit in, lovely soul, you're meant to stand out.
